MUSICAL AND REPEATING GOLD POCKET WATCH
Swiss, automaton scene - mandalin & lyre players and aperture for various characters appearing
and disappearing with music No. 4874, case No. 1722. Made circa 1825.
Fine, rare and large, 18K gold, musical pocket watch.
Four-body, "Empire", engine-turned with polished borders and bezel, bolt at 1, 4 and 7
o`clock to lock the case and movement. Hinged gilt brass cuvette with apertures for winding
and hand-setting.
Gold, small offset with Arabic numerals on the chapter ring, outer minute divisions, engine-
turned center with applied gold foliage and mandarin & lyre players in the garden with
sheep. Blued steel spade hands.
51 mm. gilt brass two-train, with foliate engraved standing barrel for the going train, cylinder
escapement, plain three-arm balance, flat balance spring, polished steel endplate, index
regulator. musical movement, 8 tuned, activate music by pressing the button at 10 o'clock.
