Did you know that the British police were forced to drive Jaguars in the ’60s? The bank-robbing fraternity always came prepared with a stolen Mk2 before carrying out their nefarious business. The Jaguar Mk2 was the fastest car on the British market and was not just the choice of the gentleman driver but also the robbing riff-raff. Although we don’t see much in the way of bank robberies these days, the Jaguar Mk2 remains an incredibly stylish sight.

This example from 1967 has undergone a full nut & bolt and body-off restoration in the past. Since then the car has been subjected to an enormous amount of TLC, which has kept it in formidable shape. The engine bay looks brand new. Further inspection of the documents shed light on this fact, which is going by the invoices relating to the 2019 full engine rebuild.

This Jaguar is exactly in the kind of condition people prefer; mechanically fine-tuned and great to see. But there again not to pretty to put you off driving it. The bodywork is superb. The correctly aligned panelwork is nice and thin. The chrome bumpers and brightwork are in excellent condition and gleam splendidly. The wire wheels with their chrome spokes look great.

The interior trim was fully reupholstered during restoration. Both the beige leather and wooden inlay are in a wonderful state. The good looking Smith instruments are in correct working order, together with all the controls and switches.

The straight-six 3.4 was completely rebuilt in 2019 and now runs fantastically well. The engine is coupled to an automatic totally suited to the Jaguar’s temperament. The servo-assisted brakes work perfectly. The suspension and large side-wall tyres are more than up to the job of wafting you along, just like Jaguar intended.

This Jaguar comes with the invoices relating to its restoration together with general information about the car and model.

We can not say otherwise: this is a splendid Jaguar Mk2 in great shape and gorgeous livery.
