These 10 affordable, racing-inspired watches are almost sold

A large proportion of the beautiful timepieces offered by Artebellum at its online ‘Automotive Watches and Races’ sale this week reflect that oh-so-golden era of motorsport in the early 1970s. Needless to say, there’s colour, size, and audacious yet classic watches in abundance…

Held in conjunction with online watch retailer Romain REA, Artebellum’s online ‘Automotive Watches and Races’ sale is well underway, though there are still numerous — and surprisingly affordable — delights remaining to be bought. We’ve always loved motorsport-themed watches, particularly those big and colourful pieces from the 1970s, and this catalogue is teeming with them. From the timeless Heuer Autavia ref. 11630 (est. 3,500–5,000 euros) and the Rolex Oyster Date (est. 2,200–3,200 euros) to the ultra-cool ‘Alfa Romeo for Rodania’ chronograph (est. 1,700–3,000 euros), with its of-the-era brown dial, the selection is superb and caters to most tastes. You can find the entire catalogue listed in the Classic Driver Market, or alternatively, view our 10 favourites below...
