Description
The Vincent HRD Black Shadow, one of the most iconic and sought-after British bikes ever built, was the first series-produced motorbike in the UK which could attain a then magical 120 mph. This example, frame number RC4037B, was first registered in May 1948 and imported into Switzerland at an early stage. Around 40 years ago the Vincent was completely disassembled and stored with the aim of performing a full restoration at a later stage. In around 2000 the Vincent was taken over from an estate by an enthusiast and completely rebuilt, using original parts. According to our information, the fantastic looking (and sounding!) engine, (FI0AB/1B/2137), was overhauled at the same time. In 2018 the ultra-rare Vincent (only 1’507 examples of the C-series were ever built), was taken over by the vendor and added to his collection. The bike is in good to very good condition but, after a period of inactivity, a major service and recommissioning would be recommended. The last Veteran MOT was completed in December 2017.
