A fine bronze and cast iron signal cannon, the 12 in. (30.5 cm) long bronze barrel struck with a proof, or inspectors stamp, the bottom of the breech seems to be filled for about 2 in. (5 cm) for a form of deactivation, mounted on a black cast iron carriage. Overall size: 8 x 18 in. (20 x 45.5 cm).
A complete, mint condition run of The Great War written by the Rt. Hon. Winston Churchill, published by George Newness Limited of The Strand in 1933. Initially intended to be published in 24 fortnightly parts, the run was extended to 26, and all 26 issues feature in this set. Box size: 12 x 9.5 x 7 in. (30 x 24 x 17.5 cm).
