Description

A magnificent and unique large-scale sculptural model of the 1931 Schneider Trophy-winning Supermarine S.6B racing seaplane. The hand-formed aluminum panels are formed over a space frame, incorporating cockpit detail and tailplane decals. The model is mounted on a cantilevered, stepped hardwood display base, with streamlined aluminum detailing and fully adjustable with allen key, and bearing a silver engraved plaque signed John Elwell (English, b. 1949), numbered 1/1, and dated 2012.

The sculptural aluminum models of John Elwell are unique in their concept and construction, and unique in fact – each piece is a one-off, one of a kind, limited edition of one example only.

Size: 40 x 30 x 40 in. (102 x 76 x 102 cm). Wingspan: 40 in. (102 cm).
