Description
An original, large-format pen and ink cartoon by Frederick Gordon Crosby (1895–1943) published in The Motor magazine. Depicting the 1930 motor show in full swing, with a self-caricature showing the artist as a portly figure in Plus Fours, along with an effete car salesman believed to be Charles Follett, surrounded by other caricatured personalities of the motoring world. Signed "FGC" lower right and dated 1930. Framed with a mount and glazed.
Provenance: Lord Montagu of Beaulieu (1926–2015).
