Description

"The Sunbeam Alpine was launched in 1953 as the first vehicle from Sunbeam-Talbot to bear the Sunbeam name alone, since the 1935 takeover of Sunbeam and Talbot by the Rootes Group. Ken Howes and Jeff Crompton were tasked with doing a complete redesign of the Alpine in 1956 with the goal of producing a dedicated sports car aimed principally at the US market. The Series V Alpine was produced from 1965 through to 1968, the final version having a new five-bearing, 1725cc engine with twin Zenith-Stromberg carburettors producing 93bhp.
This iconic British sports car is presented in red with a grey hood and a black interior. It is powered by the lively 1725 four cylinder engine mated to a four-speed gearbox. The present owner, who has owned it since 2001, has just returned from a 600-mile round trip holiday in the UK and they confirmed that the car drove without a fault. It comes with, a workshop manual, Rootes parts list and a good history file with many invoices including old MoT test certificates dating back to 1977 (and it has new MoT test certificate which expires in June 2024 with no advisories), which does verify the present mileage of 72,500 as being correct.
