If you are a regular visitor to our website, you will know that we get quite excited about a BMW E9, better known as the 3.0 CS and CSI. We encounter its successor, the 6-series, significantly less often. Extra nice to be able to offer this simply fantastic and special 635 CSI.
The adventure for the 6 series, the E24 for insiders, begins in 1976. A new body, with technology that is largely borrowed from the 5 series of that time, the E12. While late copies, which now used the technology of the E28 5 series, are still regularly offered, early 6 series are considerably less to be found. If it is also an E24 with original air conditioning, low mileage and an excellent colour combination, then we know for sure: this is a very desirable BMW!
The 635 CSI that you see here is executed in the very sporadic colour Biskaya Blau. Although we all know the 6-series in silver grey, anthracite grey and other metallic colours, a classic shade like this is particularly stylish on an E24. And it doesn't stop there because the first owner did not opt for a grey or blue tint for the interior, no, the buyer ticked red on the order form. And so we're looking at a formidable combination like we've never seen before with a 6-series.
The car is also in beautiful condition, which is not surprising if you take into account the original mileage of 81,669. The BMW came to the Netherlands in 2016, where it was sold by a supplier of high-quality classic cars. The condition of the car was reason enough for the new owner to think 'only the best of the best' and so the car was serviced annually at the brand dealer. The invoices for all that maintenance are present and show that both maintenance and preventive maintenance were carried out.
The bodywork is exceptionally beautiful. Except for the boot lid, we find the first paint, and then also in a beautiful condition. No doubt about the authenticity of this car! What applies to the paintwork also applies to everything else, such as the beloved honeycomb wheels, the beautiful chrome and the perfect fits of all hinged parts.
The interior is also completely original. The beautiful leather upholstery of the seats has a very nice patina, which makes it special how good it still is after more than forty years. The dashboard, which is also partly red, also looks beautiful and is fully functional. Everything works as you would expect from a BMW. This also applies to the air conditioning, with which this 635 was factory-equipped. An exceptional time travel, this German Coupé.
The 3,453 cc measuring six-cylinder in-line engine delivers 218 hp, making the 635 CSI a car that lends itself enormously to driving long distances. Not only country roads are very pleasant with this car, but also long highway trips at a 'pleasant pace' are a pleasure. As already mentioned, the car has had all the maintenance, neatly every year and thoroughly, as not many classic cars get. This car is therefore technically ready for many beautiful kilometres.
The BMW comes with a stack of invoices from the dealer where it has been serviced since 2016. The purchase invoice for that year is also present with the car. Finally, there are also the necessary original books with the car.
We think there is no truer 635CSI to be found than this uniquely composed E24. We suspect that you will be convinced as soon as you see the car in reality. You are very welcome in Brummen!
