Description
"DUE TO CIRCUMSTANCES BEYOND OUR CONTROL, THIS LOT HAS BEEN WITHDRAWN FROM THE AUCTION
1975 saw the launch of the Jaguar XJS. In the year that Margaret Thatcher was made the leader of the Conservative Party and petrol was 70p/gallon, the new grand tourer from Jaguar was introduced as the replacement for the iconic E-Type. During an astonishing build run of 21 years, 115,413 units were produced by the Coventry manufacturer at their world-famous Browns Lane factory. V12 engine cars were unusual at the time with notable exceptions coming from Italian luxury sportscar makers Lamborghini and Ferrari. The specifications of the XJS compared well with both Italian cars; it was able to accelerate to 60mph in 7.6 seconds and had a top speed of 143mph.
We are thrilled to offer this stunning Jaguar XJS V12 convertible, 5.3 litre. This beautiful car presents extremely well in unmarked Regency Red, it has a Magnolia hide interior piped with red, burgundy carpets and a black roof. This extremely low mileage example has been dry stored for several years and comes complete with a sizeable history file including many sundry bills, original tax discs, invoices for maintenance work carried out, and many old MoT test certificates noting the mileage. Recently treated to stage two detailing and re-connolising of the interior the XJS looks superb. We are informed that this impressive convertible drives as well as it looks. Offered with a MoT test certificate valid until June 2023, this Jaguar offers luxurious, open top motoring combined with immense power and smoothness generated by the legendary V12 engine. The XJS convertible is both a well sought-after model and surely a sound investment for the discerning buyer, especially one in this condition.
