It was in 1957 that the Porsche-Diesel 218 Standard succeeded the type 208. Produced by the company Porsche-Diesel Motorenbau until 1963, this model was very successful. The standard version was distinguished by a mechanical twin-cylinder air-cooled 25bhp engine. With a particularly successful design, these could be delivered with an optional three- point hitch and cutter bar.
The model we are offering has the first option, which is very useful, as well as a seat on the left rear wing which can accommodate a passenger. Registered new in the department of Ain on 5 June 1959, it was sold in February 1970, as can be seen by its old registration certificate. It changed hands once again in 1996, before recently benefiting from a complete and comprehensive restoration. Everything has been checked, repaired, and repainted. The wiring has also been redone and the tires replaced. We were able to see that it was in perfect working order and were impressed by the quality of the work done, which is rare on this type of machine. With its successful design, this handsome tractor deserves pride of place in a selective collection or in the property of a gentleman farmer.
