Description

"The GT6 was launched in 1966 as a fastback version of the popular Spitfire model. Powered by a 2.0 litre engine from the Triumph 2000 the model enjoyed a production run until 1973. This new model, like the Spitfire, inherited what was essentially the Triumph Herald’s chassis and running gear which had already proved capable of handling six-cylinder power when developed for the Vitesse saloon. With brisk performance and stylish looks the GT6 deserved its nickname of the ‘mini E-Type’ and today it is one of the most sought after post-war Triumph sports cars with only 13,042 Mk. III examples manufactured. This example was registered new on 8th February 1973 and is in fine order throughout. Offered in red over a black interior, the general condition is good, the paintwork presents well showing few blemishes and the interior, which includes new seats and a Moto Lita steering wheel, is also in good order. Offered with a sizeable history file detailing various bills and invoices for maintenance work, many previous MoT test certificates, sundry invoices and the current V5C registration document. Offered without reserve this well documented example could prove to be a fine investment for the new custodian.
