Description
"The E-Type would be one of the last great sports cars developed directly from a successful competition ancestor. Just as in the D-Type, a monocoque tub formed the main body/chassis structure for the E-Type while a tubular space frame extended forwards to support the engine. As the E-Type evolved so did customers needs, Jaguar had developed the twelve-cylinder engine to power the new Series III with sufficient torque and refinement. Larger and softer in nature with weight redistributed 53/47, the Series III had lost the wilds of its youth but gained the long-legged touring profile to which it was arguably better suited, a very smooth, quiet, and refined grand touring sports car.
An original right hand drive matching numbers V12 roadster, this E Type is finished in the wonderful colour combination of Regency Red with biscuit trim and was despatched from the factory on 11th September 1973 to Henlys London and was registered soon after. Fitted with an automatic gearbox, it has had seven owners in total, the last of which acquired the car in 2012. During his tenure the car has been maintained well with circa £10,000 worth of service bills. Showing 95,844 miles on the odometer the car remains in good mechanical condition and we are informed it is in good running order. A largely original example, this Jaguar is generally presented very well although there are some minor age-related blemishes to the paintwork. All in all, this E-Type is a nicely presented usable example with an MoT test certificate valid until March 2022. Supplied with a history file including sundry invoices, the Jaguar dating Heritage Certificate, the factory handbook and a current UK V5 registration document."
