This copy was manufactured at VW do Brasil in 1963 and delivered in the state of São Paulo. The total number of owners cannot be determined. The last owner was a transport entrepreneur in Mongagua near Santos, who restored the vehicle from the ground up in 2016/2017, with, among other things, new floor panels, new paintwork in the original colour, the complete interior including new carpets, seat covers and roof liner; the engine, the transmission, the clutch, the brakes, the steering as well as all mechanical parts were overhauled or renewed. The vehicle is rust-free and was only used for VW meetings, which are very popular in Brazil.
Slight flaws - for example a scuffed interior panel on the bottom part of the driver’s door pillar, a paint chip on the rear skirt, a worn-out brake pedal spring and worn side window seals - led to a lowering of the grade in the valuation report, but all these things can be taken care of with very little effort.

We have imported this Beetle to Germany in 2019 when we moved, and after conversion of the headlights (Hella) and mounting of new whitewall tyres according to EU norms, we got a vintage car license plate (German H plate) without any problems. In addition to the official inspection and the maintenance service, the underbody was sealed with protective wax.
