Introduced in 1965, the 912 replaced the 356 SC as the entry-level car in Porsche’s lineup. Appearing identical to the new 911, the 912 was powered by a 1.6-liter flat-four producing 102 hp at 5,800 rpm instead of a flat-six. Power was routed to the ground through a four-speed manual gearbox, while a five-speed was optional. Offered in both coupe and targa variants, Porsche had built 34,959 units when production ceased in 1969.

This 1966 Porsche 912 is finished in Light Ivory over black leatherette. An early, short-wheelbase model, it was specified with chrome-plated steel wheels, seat belts, five-gauge dashboard, and five-speed manual gearbox. Purchased new by airline pilot Ken C. Myers of Madison, Virginia, this 912 was enjoyed by him for over 40 years until October 2007, when it was sold to Mr. Trabue. In 2018, this very original 912 was sent to Sanders Imports of Marietta, South Carolina, where it was serviced and the fuel tank was replaced. In 2019, Rick Priami Auto Restoration of Cumberland Furnace, Tennessee, stripped and repainted the 912 in its original color while the original interior was retained, deemed too nice to discard.

Early 912s have recently been gaining in popularity, as a new generation of enthusiasts is attracted to their affordability, ease of maintenance, and well-balanced driving experience. Offered with manuals, tools, keys, and spare tire, this lovely, two-owner 912 should not be overlooked.
