Description
"We are delighted to offer, what is still to this day, the only American designed, mass produced passenger motor car with a rear mounted air-cooled engine. This example is in lovely order throughout and was recently imported from LA, California whereby it had recently undergone a renovation. This 1965 example presents very well with the coachwork finished in red with a contrasting black interior, black roof and matching tonneau cover. What really compliments this motorcar is a set of American Racing Torque Thrust alloy wheels that are shod with new tyres. Mechanically, this 1965 Monza variant, is fitted with the 164 cubic inch (approximately 2,688cc) 140hp, flat six, air-cooled engine with fuel supplied by four carburettors and mated to a three speed, floor mounted gear shift manual gearbox. When new, it was optioned with an AM/FM stereo, padded dashboard and a Group A package that included an external rear view mirror, two speed windscreen wipers and washers, a day/night rear view mirror and reversing lights. The car comes with invoices, a copy of the US Title, an owner’s manual, hood manual and a UK V5C registration document.Built to go toe to toe with VW these attractive motor cars, with VW Karmann Ghia looks, are a great alternative to any VW or, even for that matter, a Mustang. This fabulous looking Chevrolet is ready to go and certainly ready for enjoyment in this spring and summer. Super rare and super cool."
