This fascinating and rare collectable was America's answer to the second family car - an economy car of the 50's. A great investment in original patina that can easily be bought back to its former glory. The speedometer is currently showing 1804 miles. This third generation Metropolitan two-door hardtop received a number of updates to the first series launched in 1953. Access to the luggage compartment is via the folding rear back seat.
Featuring the larger 1.5-litre 4-cylinder engine and drives through a three-speed manual transmission. Top speed of this 930kg compact car was listed at 124 km/h. It is accompanied by original Technical Data History Book, Owner's Handbook and Workshop Manual. This small classic, with a massive personality.
The Nash Metropolitan is a car that was sold, initially only in the United States and Canada, from 1954–1962. While most U.S. automobile makers were following a bigger-is-better philosophy, Nash Motor Company executives were examining the market to offer American buyers an economical transportation alternative. The Metropolitan was designed in the U.S. and it was patterned from a concept car. The Metropolitan's staying power and its never-ending cuteness have earned it a place among the Greatest Cars of All Time
