Guide price: £35000 - £40000.

Supplied new in Winner Red with beautiful light Grey Alcantara interior

Great history file including a host of MoTs and service records

Previous Meguiars Concours winner

Now showing 88,330km or 55,200 miles and supplied with a UK V5c

The Lancia Delta was first seen at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1979 and its development, the Delta Integrale, is perhaps best known for its domination of the World Rally Championship in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The first 'Evoluzione' cars were built at the end of 1991 and carried on through 1992. These were to be the final homologation cars built for the Lancia Rally Team, which raced under the Martini Racing banner. The Evoluzione II was never actually rallied by the factory themselves.

In order to improve the handling, the Evoluzione had a wider track, front and rear, than earlier Deltas and in order to fit this revised track into the bodywork, the already wide wheel arches were extended even further and in the process also became more rounded. The new Integrale retained the four-wheel drive layout with an epicyclic centre diff with torque splitter, a Ferguson designed viscous coupling and a Torsen rear differential. The engine, although technically the same as the earlier 16V cars, was remapped to give 210bhp at 5750rpm in order to compensate for the slight increase in weight and increased frontal area. These improvements were aimed at improving the handling potential of the car and it worked, with the new Integrale being considerably quicker over rally stages on both asphalt and gravel.

We are pleased to offer this particular Lancia Delta Integrale Evoluzione I which was first registered in Italy in April 1992 before being imported into the UK in 1998. Finished in the lovely colour combination of Winner Red over Light Grey Alcantara with Recaro sports seats with twin-needle stitch work, charcoal grey carpets, a suede roof lining, and an unmarked black dashboard.

The history file accompanying this car contains lots of previous MoTs and the service book boasts 18 stamps, the majority of which are by marque specialists. Most recently in January 2018, the car was treated to a cambelt service with fresh plugs fluids and filters.

This wonderful example has previously won the Meguiar’s Spa Italia d’Elegance in 2005 and it’s not hard to see why. Now showing 88,355km, equivalent to 55,220 miles, this sharp Integrale is a fine example of one of the most iconic homologated cars from the 1980s and represents a super proposition for the next owner. There is no reason why values won't continue to gently rise but, unlike a number of other 'blue-chip' investment classics, Intrgrales are just such incredible fun to drive.
