Description

August Gaul. The owls (two owls), 1902, cast past 1945. Bronze, brown patina, eyes of brown glass. H. 18.0 x 15.5 x 12.0 cm, base: H. 10.0 x 20.0 x 10.0 cm. Signed: A. Gaul, signet of Noack Berlin. Only few casts were made during Gaul's life and not many posthumously. According to Dr. Josephine Gabler, this cast was made past 1945.
