Description
Launched at Geneva in March 1969, the Fiat 130 assumed primacy as the company’s flagship sedan and delivered renowned dynamics with its fully independent suspension, standard four-wheel disc brakes, and power steering. From this excellent foundation, the 130 Coupe debuted in March 1971 with styling by Paolo Martin for Pininfarina. The styling received great acclaim, including a prestigious award from Style Auto in March 1972.
Powered by a 3.2-liter V-6 engine, the 130 Coupe continues to be renowned as an outstanding driver’s car and a brisk performer capable of nudging 125 mph flat out. Fewer than 4,500 were built for European markets through 1976, with owners including Italy’s top industrialists.
Exceedingly capable, desirable, and stylish now as when new, the 130 Coupe is also a rare commodity in the US. Displaying an older but very well-maintained exterior restoration, the interior and upholstery of this example are believed to remain original.
A recent tune-up and the installation of a new clutch and power train mounts help ensure this 130 Coupe is an excellent classic Italian Grand Tourer. Reproduction Italian license plates, the spare assembly, jack, emergency road triangle, and a service manual round out this rare Italian thoroughbred.
