The Harley-Davidson XL 1200R combined the Sportster’s 1,200 cc Evolution V-twin with a sportier chassis setup, dual front disc brakes, and more purposeful suspension for a sharper, performanceoriented take on the classic XL platform. This example is a period-inspired build based on a 2004 XL 1200R, which has been modified to evoke the spirit and appearance of the legendary 1958 Sportster. This Harley is accompanied by a spare period-style "turtle" fuel tank and original-style bench seat, which have been retained in storage. The build is complete with luggage, for a correct period touring character, and disc brakes for improved stopping performance, presenting a machine that balances vintage visual appeal with modern mechanicals.
