With cases, bezels, faces and straps all finished in elegant monochromatic greys, the Geneva manufacturer Vacheron Constantin presents two new Overseas models: an Automatic and an Automatic Chronograph.

The Overseas is a reinterpretation of a classic 1933 Vacheron Constantin model and, following on from some 222 Overseas made in 1977, the model was re-launched again in 1996. Dynamic, sporty and dedicated to travel, these watches soon became the faithful companion of globetrotting enthusiasts requiring both technical and aesthetic excellence.

In 2004, Vacheron Constantin launched a new generation of the Overseas – one that was resolutely more sporty and modern. This included all-steel men’s and ladies’ models, and a chronograph. These cases were slightly larger, and sported a newly-developed bracelet of half Maltese Cross links. Then, in 2006, and to celebrate the line’s 10th anniversary, Vacheron Constantin presented the Dual Time, an extremely useful watch for discerning travellers.

In 2008, Vacheron Constantin introduced titanium to its Quai de l’Ile collection. Now, in 2009, the new Overseas models feature mechanical automatic movements within anti-magnetic 42mm steel cases, titanium bezels inspired by the Maltese Cross, and slate-grey dials. They also incorporate white luminescent hour-markers and screw-down push-buttons on the chronograph version. Water resistant to a depth of 15 ATM (the equivalent of 150 metres), the emblematic ‘Amerigo Vespucci’ three-masted sailing ship motif is engraved on each case back. Every watch is delivered with two straps; one in mouse-grey alligator, the other in black rubber.
