Description
Chassis No. WDB4633031X173580
The G-Class arrived in 1979 with three body styles, a station wagon, a pickup, and a two-door convertible. The Cabriolet has remained part of the lineup ever since, always built in far smaller numbers than the wagon. The diesel engines offered in the open-top body style grew considerably more refined over the years, and by the time the 320 CDI arrived, the 3.0-liter OM642 turbodiesel V6 paired real off-road capability with quiet, torque-rich cruising and a folding soft top on a proper four-wheel-drive platform.
Finished in Iridium Silver Metallic with a Grey leather interior with burred walnut veneer trim and a black soft top, this G 320 CDI Cabriolet was completed at the factory on 7 December 2007 and delivered new to Mercedes-Benz Milano less than two weeks later. It was specified with the seven-speed automatic transmission, Electronic Stability Program, heated front and rear seats, a COMAND navigation and entertainment system, and 18-inch alloy wheels. It was first registered in Italy on 6 August 2008 in Como, and from that point its ownership is chronicled in its Certificato Cronologico issued by Italy's ACI-PRA vehicle registry, a document that traces the car through a chain of registered owners across Lombardy and Umbria before it was exported in July 2022.
The Cabriolet was then brought to Germany where it was registered for road use on 26 November 2024 at 73,667 kilometers, and was serviced the following month by Alzinger Reparaturwerkstätte of Thalmassing. Since then, it has remained in superb condition, currently showing just 75,000 kilometers at cataloging. Supported by a documented ownership history, its service book, and a clean recent inspection, this Cabriolet offers a rare way to experience the G-Class exactly as intended, top down, through anything it might encounter well after the road has ended.
