This 6C 1750 GS was sold new on 4 April 1930 to Giacomo Corelli, a lawyer from Lugo near Ravenna with a great passion for racing. Corelli was no amateur behind the wheel; he had already gained experience with an Alfa Romeo 6C 1500 S and drove the 1930 Mille Miglia in a 6C 1500 SS Zagato, finishing 21st overall. An original Certificato di Garanzia survives for this specific car, an Italian insurance document for entry into the Mille Miglia of 12 and 13 April 1930, made out in Corelli's name. On 28 July 1930, the car passed to Umberto Klinger of Ferrara. Under his ownership, the car competed in the 1931 Mille Miglia, where Klinger, partnered with Saccomani and racing under the colours of Scuderia Ferrari, achieved a fine fourth place overall, carrying race number 111. A sale to an official Alfa Romeo dealer in Naples followed in February 1932, succeeded by a sale on 11 May 1932 to Sabatino Paganelli, an experienced mechanic and racing driver from Naples known for building numerous racing cars, who is recorded in Andrea Curami's reference work "Le Sport e i suoi artigiani." Later that year the car changed hands once more, first to Salerno and then to a Mr. De Juliis Enrico of Cava dei Tirreni near Naples. In 1982, the car was rediscovered in Nancy, France. The chassis number suggests this may have been a Scuderia Ferrari team car, and the surviving photographic documentation supports entries in the Mille Miglia of 1930, 1932, and 1933, as well as other events of the period in Italy.

The restoration of this Alfa Romeo was entrusted to Bob Smith Coachworks in Gainesville, Texas, a firm with multiple class wins at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance to its name. The original, matching-numbers engine was overhauled by the renowned specialist Paul Grist in England. The scale of this undertaking is evident from the surviving invoices: the project encompassed thousands of hours of labour spread over several years, with work carried out on the bodywork, upholstery, wiring, chrome and nickel plating, and numerous mechanical components. The result of this effort speaks for itself. The car has been shown twice at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, winning its class on both occasions, and was named Best in Class at The Quail in Carmel Valley, California, in 2007.

Beneath the beautifully proportioned bonnet lies a 1,752cc inline-six engine, with double overhead camshafts, a cast-iron block and head, a bore of 65mm, and a stroke of 88mm. The engine is fitted with a Roots supercharger of Alfa Romeo's own manufacture and a single Memini twin-throat carburettor. Power is transmitted through a manual four-speed Alfa Romeo gearbox to the rear wheels via a driveshaft. Front and rear, the car rides on live axles with leaf springs and adjustable friction dampers. The brakes are 250mm drums, mechanically operated by rods, front and rear. The steering employs a worm-and-sector mechanism. The bodywork is largely aluminium, with steel components where required, built as a two-door, two-seat Spyder. The car holds a valid FIA Historic Technical Passport, FIA identity number 44251, issued by the KNAF and valid through 31 December 2028, in the Pre-30 Open Two Seat Car, Period C category. This renders the car immediately eligible for the world's foremost historic events, including the Mille Miglia.
