Description
Chassis No. E54S003925
Chassis number E54S003925, one of only approximately 3,600 Corvettes built during the second year of production, was the subject of a no-expense-spared, frame-off restoration under previous ownership. The effort included a full rebuild of its correct Blue Flame six and two-speed Powerglide, the former presenting cleanly today with a chromed valve cover, radiator tank, and air cleaners.
Cosmetically, the car was finished in period-correct Black paintwork, one of the four colors offered to Corvette buyers in 1954, while inside, the red vinyl interior remains crisp. A beige canvas soft top and red-painted steel wheels with full covers and whitewall tires complete the presentation. Underneath, the car is detailed to the same standard as the exterior, and the trunk is correctly outfitted with red plastic lining, jack, and lug wrench.
Documentation accompanying the car includes a reprint of the operator's manual together with a binder of images. Prior to its acquisition by the current owner, the car resided in the well-regarded collection of John Staluppi in Palm Beach, Florida. Attractively finished and properly detailed throughout, it should appeal to collectors seeking a rare first-series six-cylinder Corvette finished to a high standard.
