The late Series 1 being offered for sale here is an exceptionally original example that has never been fully restored. Completed on 6 March 1957 and dispatched on 26 March 1957, it’s a right-hand-drive vehicle that was specified with the 88-inch wheelbase and 2-litre petrol engine.

1957 Land Rover Series I SWB
This Land Rover (Dolly Grey) was shipped from the factory in March 1957 to Cooper Motor corporation in Kenya.
The vehicle was then sent to the Quest motor group in Salisbury Rhodesia where it was purchased buy it first owner.
The vehicle stayed in Nyanga district in Zimbabwe until 1996 when it was acquired by myself ( second owner)
The vehicle has original engine ( 1997cc) and gearbox, and is rust free having spent most of its life in Zimbabwe

CONDITION
This 1957 Land Rover Series I is in very good original condition.
The vehicle spent the first half of its life in the Nyanga region of Zimbabwe and the second half of its life garaged in Cape Town South Africa.
The interior has been retrimmed in original elephant hide vinyl, and the vehicle is complete with spare keys, and tools including original jack and wooden jack handle.
