Description
The SL, Mercedes-Benz’s flagship open-top sports car, made its debut in 1971 and remained in production until 1989. This R107 represents the third generation of the model.
With the arrival of the R107, the model broke away from its previous inline-six-cylinder engines and was fitted with a V8 engine delivering 235ps, marking a transformation from ‘Sport Light’ to ‘Sport Luxury’.
A facelift in 1981 saw the engine upgraded to a lightweight aluminium block. The silhouette, which still exudes a modern and stylish feel today, was the work of designer Bruno Sacco and remained a favourite for many years. In 1989, the successor R129 series was introduced, bringing to an end the longest production run in Mercedes-Benz history.
‘560SL’ were sold exclusively in the United States, Japan and Australia. This vehicle is an officially imported model sold by Western Motors (now Yanase).
The body colour is Smoky Silver Metallic, an elegant shade reminiscent of champagne gold. It pairs beautifully with the Bordeaux-coloured leather interior and wood panelling.
Remove the hardtop to enjoy open-air driving.
・Comes with genuine tools and a Yanase booklet
