En 1963 Maserati lance la Quattroporte, une berline quatre portes de grand tourisme, qui imposera ce segment et deviendra une tradition indissociable de la firme au Trident. Originellement dessinée par Frua, la Quattroporte a toujours été synonyme d’élégance et de luxe discret. C’est au salon de Francfort en 2003 qu’est dévoilée la cinquième génération du modèle, dessinée par Pininfarina cette fois et la formule est toujours très réussie avec un dessin d’une grande élégance, une mécanique aussi brillante que sonore et une finition italienne raffinée. C’est d’ailleurs un vrai succès pour Maserati avec plusieurs milliers d’exemplaires vendus, ce qui a attisé les convoitises et amené à l’apparition de nouvelles concurrentes tels que la CLS, la Panamera ou autre Rapide.

Aussi, pour rester maître de la catégorie qu’elle a créée, Maserati présente en 2008 la Quattroporte V dans sa version restylée. C’est à cette occasion que la gamme s’enrichit de la déclinaison S, qui réaffirme le caractère sportif de la grande berline italienne grâce à une évolution technique majeure. Elle reçoit le V8 atmosphérique Ferrari-Maserati de 4,7 litres développant 430 ch, directement dérivé de celui de la GranTurismo S.

Cette version adopte également la boîte automatique ZF à 6 rapports, plus moderne et agréable en usage routier que l’ancienne transmission DuoSelect. Le châssis bénéficie d’un réglage spécifique avec suspension pilotée Skyhook, offrant un excellent compromis entre confort et dynamisme. Le restylage apporte une face avant redessinée avec une calandre concave inspirée de la GranTurismo ainsi qu’un dessin de feux modernisé, tout en conservant la ligne élégante signée Pininfarina. Avec une répartition des masses optimisée et un différentiel autobloquant, la Quattroporte S se distingue par un comportement routier particulièrement équilibré pour une berline de ce gabarit. L’habitacle conjugue luxe artisanal et ambiance sportive avec sellerie cuir Poltrona Frau, inserts en bois précieux et instrumentation typiquement Maserati.

Elle a été livrée neuve le 11 septembre 2008 par le concessionnaire Intini et mise en circulation le jour suivant au Luxembourg, puis immatriculée en France en 2021 par l’actuel propriétaire. Elle s’affiche dans une configuration « full black » avec teinte Nero Carbonio associée à un intérieur cuir et moquette noirs, complétée par des étriers de frein rouges. Outre cette présentation à la fois chic, sobre et sportive, elle a l’intérêt de disposer de très nombreuses options comme le toit ouvrant électrique, les sièges avant massants, chauffants et ventilés, les vitres arrière teintées, le store pare-soleil de lunette arrière, le homelink…

In 1963, Maserati launched the Quattroporte, a four-door grand touring sedan that would define the segment and become an integral part of the Trident brand’s heritage. Originally designed by Frua, the Quattroporte has always been synonymous with elegance and understated luxury. The fifth generation of the model was unveiled at the 2003 Frankfurt Motor Show, this time designed by Pininfarina, and the formula remained highly successful, featuring a design of great elegance, engineering that was as brilliant as it was loud, and a refined Italian finish. It was, in fact, a huge success for Maserati, with several thousand units sold, which sparked intense interest and led to the emergence of new competitors such as the CLS, the Panamera, and the Rapide.

To remain the leader in the category it created, Maserati unveiled the restyled Quattroporte V in 2008. It was at this time that the lineup was expanded to include the S variant, which reaffirmed the sporty character of the large Italian sedan thanks to a major technical upgrade. It was equipped with the 4.7-liter naturally aspirated Ferrari-Maserati V8 engine producing 430 hp, directly derived from the one in the GranTurismo S.

This version also features the ZF 6-speed automatic transmission, which is more modern and pleasant to use on the road than the previous DuoSelect transmission. The chassis has been specifically tuned with Skyhook-controlled suspension, offering an excellent balance between comfort and dynamic performance. The facelift features a redesigned front end with a concave grille inspired by the GranTurismo, as well as updated headlight styling, while retaining the elegant lines designed by Pininfarina.

With optimized weight distribution and a limited-slip differential, the Quattroporte S stands out for its exceptionally balanced handling for a sedan of this size. It was delivered new on September 11, 2008, by the Intini dealership and registered the following day in Luxembourg, then re-registered in France in 2021 by the current owner. It features a “full black” configuration with Nero Carbonio exterior paint paired with a black leather and carpet interior, complemented by red brake calipers.
