Description

We are pleased to offer for sale this superb Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI RSII.
Factory left-hand-drive (LHD) versions were produced in extremely limited numbers. The example presented here is a special homologation edition named the Mitsubishi Carisma GT Black Diamond, derived from the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI RSII and developed in 1999 by RalliArt Germany. It stands out thanks to several exclusive styling features.
These included “Black Diamond” badges, a “Carisma GT” emblem mounted on the rear, as well as Recaro SR seats featuring specific “Evolution VI” and “RalliArt Germany” embroidery. This special series was exclusively available in the metallic black “Magic-Schwarz” paint finish.
The exact production volume was never officially disclosed, although collector estimates place the figure between 88 and 200 units.
RS (“Rally Sport”) versions were competition-oriented models homologated for road use. The RS2 designation refers to an intermediate trim level designed to combine the raw mechanical character of the RS with some of the comfort features found in the more road-focused GSR version.
Delivered new to RalliArt Germany in July 1999, this example was first registered in the Netherlands in July 2000, where it was maintained by independent rally car specialists. The vehicle later became part of a German collection.
The car is fitted with Enkei RalliArt wheels identical to those used on the Tommi Mäkinen versions, along with several other upgrades offered at the time by RalliArt Germany.
The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI is often regarded as the pinnacle of the “Evo” lineage. Introduced in 1999, it celebrated Mitsubishi Motors’ success in the World Rally Championship, particularly through Finnish driver Tommi Mäkinen, who secured four consecutive World Championship titles. Beyond its motorsport achievements, the Evo VI also helped popularize the model among the general public thanks to its memorable appearance in the movie Taxi 2.
