Description

The 2019 Jaguar XE SV Project 8 Touring, one of only 15 examples in Touring specification and unique in Satin British Racing Green... One of the most extreme and special sports sedans of the last decade, and probably the most radical road-going Jaguar ever produced. Developed by the Jaguar Special Vehicle Operations division, the Project 8 used the Jaguar XE as its base but transformed it almost completely, to the point that many considered it practically a road-legal racing car.
The exclusivity of the "Touring Specification": While the "normal" Project 8 screams track with a giant adjustable carbon fiber rear wing, the Touring version (limited to only 15 examples out of 300) replaces this wing with a fixed lip spoiler on the trunk lid.
The objective: To maintain stability at high speed but with a much more discreet and elegant visual profile.
Seating configuration: Unlike the track version which can come with a roll cage, the Touring comes standard with a 4-seat configuration with luxury finishes.
SVO (Special Vehicle Operations) modified almost everything compared to a conventional XE:
Aluminum and Carbon Fiber Body: Only the roof and front doors are shared with the production XE. The hood, bumpers, and widened fenders (to accommodate the much wider tracks) are made of carbon fiber.
Competition Suspension: Suspension arms with rigid joints (rose joints) and manually adjustable continuously variable shock absorbers, allowing the car to be lowered by 15mm for track use.
Carbon-ceramic Brakes: Massive discs with 6-piston calipers at the front, guaranteeing a resistance to fatigue that no normal luxury sedan can match.
Transmission and Traction:
Utilizes Jaguar's Intelligent Driveline Dynamics (IDD) system, which prioritizes rear-wheel drive but can send torque to the front in milliseconds if it detects loss of traction. Includes an Electronic Active Rear Differential with its own oil-cooling system (vital for intensive use).
