The BMW R25/2 symbolises the dawn of the 1950s. It was the bread-and-butter motorcycle in post-war Germany – solid, precisely manufactured and reliable down to the last detail. With its 247 cc single-cylinder engine, shaft drive and robust chassis construction, it embodied the proverbial engineering artistry from Munich. For many, the R25 was their first motorised means of transport – a symbol of mobility, independence and the restart of German vehicle production after the war.

This BMW R25/2 was part of a collection in Ludwigsburg from 1991 to 2021. The then owner from Ingersheim purchased it in April 1991 for DM 2,500 and registered it in 1994. The motorcycle was ridden regularly for many years and later sold due to lack of time. The current owner faced the same problem – he didn't have time to ride it.

Now that is about to change: the R25/2 is waiting to be ridden again and to bring joy to its next owner. It stands for classic BMW virtues – durability, honest technology and an incomparably authentic riding experience that has lost none of its appeal even decades after its creation.
