Description

1974 Ferrari 308 GT4 Dino – Early Dino-Badged Example

Offered here is a rare chance to acquire an early Ferrari 308 GT4 Dino, one of the very few still carrying its original Dino badging. When launched, the 308 GT4 was marketed under the Dino sub-brand in honor of Enzo Ferrari’s late son, Alfredo “Dino” Ferrari. It wasn’t until later in production that the model was officially rebadged as a Ferrari, making these early Dino-badged cars especially collectible today.

Adding to its historical importance, the 308 GT4 is the only production Ferrari ever designed by Bertone, marking a distinct break from the traditional Pininfarina lines. The sharp wedge-shaped styling by Marcello Gandini, who also penned icons such as the Lamborghini Miura and Countach, gives the GT4 a unique and unmistakable character within Ferrari’s lineage.

This particular example is even more special thanks to its outstanding and rare factory color combination: Verde Medio Metallizzato exterior with tan leather interior. This deep metallic green is a very uncommon shade for a Dino-badged 308 GT4, making it a standout among others. The pairing with the warm tan interior highlights the crisp Bertone lines beautifully, giving the car an sporty and elegant presence.

History & Condition
The car was delivered new in Germany before moving to the UK, and since 2008 it has been in Norway with only two owners. The most recent caretaker held the car from 2012 until 2025, when it came into our care. During this period, the car benefited from continuous attention, with many service invoices on file and photographic documentation of an engine overhaul included in the history.

In the early 2000s the car was resprayed in its original Verde Medio Metallizzato, a finish that still presents very well today. There are no signs of accident damage, and we believe this is a complete accident-free example.

Before bringing the car to Belgium earlier this year, we carried out a major service including belts, ensuring it was fully prepared. Instead of transporting the car, we chose to drive it back from Norway – a three-day, 1,500 km road trip. The journey not only provided an unforgettable driving experience, but also confirmed the car’s mechanical integrity: its Matching numbers engine, gearbox, and overall mechanics proved absolutely bulletproof.

This 1974 Ferrari 308 GT4 Dino represents a rare blend of historical importance, striking design, and proven usability. With its Dino badging, Bertone design heritage, rare Verde Medio Metallizzato specification, and well-documented history, it is as enjoyable to drive as it is significant to own.
