Description
1988 BMW E30 M3 EVO II - 367/500
We are very thrilled to have this unique unmolested 1988 BMW E30 Evolution II in stock,
This M3 is unique, because it is a so-called EVO II model, which means that it is a homologation model that has been built in limited numbers of ’500’ examples worldwide. All only made in LHD congifuration with only 3 colours to choose from; Macau Blue, Nogaro Silver, and Misano Red.
This particular car is finished in Nogaro Silver over a silver chequered cloth and leather-trimmed cabin, punctuated by M tricolour detailing on the three-spoke sports steering wheel
It is powered by a naturally aspirated 2.3-litre ‘S14’ inline-four, delivering 220hp to the rear wheels through a dog-leg five-speed manual transmission. A true homologation Icon of the 80’s.
The BMW E30 M3 Evolution II is not to be mistaken with the ‘standard’ BMW E30 M3
Improving on the standard BMW M3, the E30 M3 Evo II features thinner rear and side window glass, a lighter boot lid, a deeper front splitter, a power increase to 220PS, a revised longer final drive gear ratio, brake cooling ducts in place of the front fog lights, an uprated rear spoiler, and the removal of the air-conditioning system. As a result, it weighs 9.9kg less than the standard E30 M3.
The engine was was completed with new camshafts and pistons, a higher compression ratio, a more efficient air intake, remapped engine management software, and a striking full-colour engine cover complete with BMW M tricolour detailing bringing it up to 220hp (over 30hp more than the standard M3)
The car retains its original engine and gearbox from when it left the factory
It has covered 182,000 kilometres since new and at around 120,000 kilometres the engine was rebuilt aswel the suspension was fully refurbished. The car is slightly lowered and is sitting on KW suspension.
It was new delivered in Portsmouth, United Kingdom to its first owner before being imported into Germany in 2012 and was bought by us from the German 2nd owner
It comes from a fresh major service from a BMW specialist and 4 brand new tires were fitted at the same time, currently the car is sitting on Belgian reg documents and benefits from its ‘oldtimer’ status.
A plaque in front of the gear lever confirms that this is number 367 out of the only 500 examples produced worldwide.
It rides on a set of 16-inch cross-spoke alloy wheels which show no signs of damage
Equipment includes an electric sunroof, electric front windows and mirrors, a trip computer, and a BMW Bavaria C Exclusive radio-cassette player, all in perfectly working condition.
Accompanying the sale is the owner’s book pack ( service book, owners manual…), various invoices, the registration documents, spare wheel, toolkit, warning triangle, and 2 keys, a custom car cover, a very rare EVO II book that is also limited to 500 pieces worldwide, and all original suspension parts + floor mats.
The car is located in Kortrijk, Belgium and we are more than happy to show you around the car
