We must honestly say that the Porsche 996 is increasingly appealing to us, and apparently we are not alone in this. After a long time, with the emergence of the newer models, and almost forgotten by many, the car becomes again polular. Many enthusiasts realize at some point that it is a very real Porsche that not only offers a lot of driving pleasure for its money, but if you can find a very real one, it turned out to be a reliable, good investment and safe driving machine. One in which every kilometer the appreciation grows and the satisfaction about the investment feels good. And at times when it is not driven, it is a beautiful car to look at.

We think we can offer that very real 996. We are not talking here about the “entry-model”, but rather about the 4S Convertible. A car that was delivered in April 2006 by the Dutch Porsche Centrum Eindhoven and in 2010, with only 25.000 km on the clock, passed into the hands of the second and last owner. The beautiful convertible has all these years been serviced by Porsche Centrum Heteren and of course the invoices comes with the car.

This 4S in the color Polar silver with blue leather interior is a very complete car with beautiful and useful extras. In addition to the (not shown) hardtop (made of aluminum and like the body, painted in Polar silver), the car is equipped with: sat nav, instruments with an aluminum look, the parking brake as well as the Tiptronic gearshift inlaid with aluminum, the center console upholstered in leather, Xenon lighting with headlamp washers, and there is automatic cruise control and heated seats. These are just some of the things that make driving even more pleasant.

Driving the 4S is therefore exceptionally good. The four-wheel drive gives a very trustful feeling and that you can control the convertible in any situation. Depending on the conditions, between five and forty percent of the driving forces go to the front wheels. The Tiptronic gearbox ensures that the driver can keep his attention fully on the road and if he (or she) wants to shift gears, a light push of the steering wheel button will do to shift the next gear. A well-functioning and reliable system in which the sporty Porsche character remains completely intact.

The difference between the normal Carrera and the Carrera 4S concerns both the appearance and the technology. The 4S is immediately recognizable by its impressively wide wings. The rear fenders are no less than 60 mm wider than the normal version and it looks great. The width is further accentuated by the continuous reflection bar between the two taillights. That width is not an unnecessary because the 295/30/18 rear tires (at the front 225/40/18) must of course have the space. The 4S brakes phenomenally because it has the same braking system as the Turbo.

We are pleased to offer a 4S Convertible of this quality. The current mileage of only 91.180 is hardly visible to the car and the last major service was carried out at 90.370 km. The (first) paint is undamaged, as is the interior. It is really a 996 in a very hard to find, and wonderful, condition.
