Description

This Porsche is one of the very first samples of 911 S produced, precisely the 22nd November 1966 and delivered in Ravenna (Italy) to its first owner at the beginning of 1967. The car was ordered in Polo red with black leatherette and black/white hounds tooth cloth; as option the car had the auxiliary Webasto heater and the seat belts.

After different owners, in the late 80’s the car was used for historic racings in Italy as 911 ST, before being purchased by the current owner who started a total restoration of this rare "Short Wheel Base", according to FIA G1 GTS (Group 4) 1970 specs.

The car still has the original doors and front lid (with the last three digits of the VIN number stamped), original green instruments, glasses and many body parts. The paint had been fully removed and the chassis was cataphoresis treated and repainted in its original colour; the rear flares were sightly enlarged to house 7” wheels, as permitted by the rules. Beside the original steel one, the car currently mounts a fiberglass front bonnet with the hole for the “endurance” fuel tank cap and a couple of Cibié additional headlamps.

Engine and gearbox, “matching numbers”, had been fully overhauled and prepared according to racing specs: the engine is the double spark plug version, double front radiator, polished ducts, balanced driveshaft, piston rods and pistons. The gearbox has a long final drive (“Nurburgring”, top speed 250 km/h) and limited slip differential. Twin circuit braking system. Suspension setup developed on Dunlop racing tyres. The car just raced the opening event of Masters Historic Racing at Imola in 2018.

Bolted roll-cage with side protections, integrated extinguishing fire system and racing fuel tank complete the compulsory FIA equipment.

Together with the car there is the steel front lid and a couple of sport seats Recaro-style finished in black/white hound’s tooth.

The car has italian title and license plates; the FIA HTP expires in 2028.
This is the most advanced evolution of a SWB 911 S with 2 liters carbs engine: it could race on hillclimbs, rallies and track races including some of the most prestigious events, Masters Historic Racing, Peter Auto, Le Mans Classic, Tour Auto, Nurburgring Classic or Modena 100 ore. This 911 S could be easily converted to a street legal car or it could be even used for regularity races.

It has Italian title and could be seen by appointment in Brescia. Further details on www.gulfblue.it
