Description
A fine and early Sterling silver Brooklands trophy cup and cover in the form of a 17th century porringer. One side is finely engraved with the BARC (Brooklands Automobile Racing Club) monogram, the other inscribed "3rd Prize, the 5th 100 MPH Long Handicap 27th May 1912." The cup and cover hallmarked William Comyns, London 1911. This trophy was presented to Ed Kickham, the 3rd place winner of the motorcycle event of the race meeting held on Whit Monday, May 27,1912 at Brooklands. Kickham also achieved 2nd place in the Isle of Man TT race (junior class) on a Douglas, in the same year.
