Description

This remarkable horse-drawn farm cart, dating from about 1900, was kept at one of the Bugatti family homes, the Château d’Ermenonville. According to correspondence on file, the wagon was purchased circa 1960 by Bugatti enthusiast Jean Prick from the Château d’Ermenonville while Ettore Bugatti’s daughter Lidia was in residence there. One of the hub caps is inscribed “Lepileur Le Reculey,” which may refer to its French village of manufacture. Acquired by the Mullin Collection in 2017, its utilitarian construction, large wooden-spoke wheels, and blacksmithed ironwork recall a bygone era of rural French life.

*Please note that all of the Lots in this Auction have been in long-term static storage at the Mullin Automotive Museum and may not be currently operational. They will require mechanical attention and in some cases significant restoration prior to any road use.
