Description

A folder of design studies for the Bentley Corniche II, 1951, black card folder titled 'Corniche II - A New Record Breaking Saloon Sports Car', dated January 1951, containing two plates, depicting coachwork designs after C.K.Jenner, a diagram of the car, other technical and performance considerations on typed pages, and three other plates including a wind tunnel model, depicting the earlier 1939 Bentley Corniche I design with streamlined coachwork privately commissioned by Andre Embiricos (eventually destroyed during WWII hostilities), upon which the Corniche II was proposed as a successor; offered together with a J.S.Inskip blue card folder, 1951, containing 10 photographs depicting Bentley cars including Corniche Bentley 4¼ Litre 'GRA 270', Continental Saloon and the "Embiricos" Bentley '2RL-9' testing at Montlhery.
