Description

A 52 Inch Rudge Ordinary bicycle, circa 1880, tapered backbone mounted with sprung saddle pad (lacking cover), rear step, fitted to headstock mounted with drop handlebars, turned wooden grips, lever handle to front brake also fitted with wooden grip, tapered flat forks to 52 inch driving wheel with crescent rim and black solid rubber tyre, bronze hub fitted with opposed radial spokes, bronze crank bracket marked '5594 D. Rudge's Patent No 526 1878', adjustable pedal cranks, open pedals with red rubber blocks, 16 inch trailing wheel with solid red rubber tyre, the once black painted metalwork with surface rusting overall.
