3,495 CC DOHC 72° V-10 Engine
Estimated 600 BHP at 13,000 RPM

The Judd GV V-10 engine was built for the 1991 and 1992 Formula 1 seasons and utilized by a number of teams, including Brabham, Andrea Moda, and Scuderia Italia.

Scuderia Italia was founded by Giuseppe Lucchini in 1983, and the team entered Formula 1 with Dallara-built cars in 1988. For 1991, they ran the Dallara F191 chassis and, according to Judd records this engine, was supplied new to Scuderia Italia in February of that year ahead of the racing season. The team’s drivers JJ Lehto and Emanuele Pirro had a challenging season, but their successes included a 6th Place at the Monaco Grand Prix for Pirro and a 3rd Place at the San Marino Grand Prix for Lehto behind the McLarens of Ayrton Senna and Gerhard Berger.

According to Judd factory records, this engine was rebuilt and dyno tested on June 7, 1991, with a power output of over 600 hp at 13,000 rpm. After being retired from active use, the engine became a part of an Italian collection where it was displayed for many years in a museum-type setting before being acquired by the consignor. This is a rare opportunity to acquire a significant piece of Formula 1 engineering that would surely spark great conversation wherever it is displayed.
