De La Chapelle Automobiles was founded in 1907 in the Loire region of France, by two brothers, Guy and Carl De La Chapelle. The company's cars were lightweight and achieved notable success in competition, winning many races against much more powerful cars. Unfortunately, the First World War brought the two brothers’ activity to an end. In 1975, Xavier de La Chapelle, a descendant of Guy and Carl, and a former Venturi director, decided to relaunch the company. The brand started producing Bugatti replicas, and later its own cars. De La Chapelle is also famous for its micro cars for children.
