This Volkswagen T2 first entered the streets of Germany in 1970. The T2 was the successor to the legendary T1, the first Volkswagen Transporter that had sprouted from the vivid imagination of Mr Ben Pon. Whilst the T2 was designed to be a no-nonsense work horse, our T2 has not been subjected to a life of hard labour. Since 1970 it has clocked up less than 43,000 km. The effect of this easy life has left us with a vehicle in very good condition. The green finish has been reapplied and is still very neat. The bodywork is in very good shape. Both coach and chassis are fully rust-free. The bodywork also sports a white fibreglass hood that has escaped the years undamaged. Other nice touches are the sun visor and luggage rack. As with all T2’s it has a rear engine. The raised floor above the engine level creates a level loading space. The light curb weight makes the T2 easy to handle and very pleasant to drive. The engine is coupled to a manual 4-speed gearbox. The interior trim consists of light-coloured vinyl upholstery and has a 3-seater bench. Furthermore there are black matts and all controls and instruments work as they should. This T2 is the prefect base to use for promotional purposes or alternatively the ideal T2 for someone looking for the ultimate low mileage T2 pick-up.
