This original VW T1 from Brazil was completely restored and painted in 2021 by an experienced T1 workshop in Brazil. I've seen a lot of T1s, but this one is really beautiful. It is not an original Samba but a beautiful replica with all the details and sun windows. The van was completely repainted in the beautiful two-tone combination of red with a lotus white roof. The chassis, the axles and the doors are in very good condition, also along the bottom, see photos. The bottom was also sprayed in red.

This T1 has the well-known air-cooled 1500cc engine with 4 cylinders. The engine runs fine and the transmission shifts properly.

The interior was fully reupholstered with new materials: new curtains, headliner, side panels, new seats, sun visors, and of course the folding roof that can be opened. The seats are beautifully upholstered with a combination of light grey imitation leather on the side and white seat areas. The sewn patterns in the seats complete the look along with the chrome seat rails. The front windows are pop-up Samba windows, they fold open. New, original chrome-plated Volkswagen logo on the front and original VW rims with chrome hubcaps. The curtains, whitewall tyres and double roof rack complete this van. The surfboard shown is a prop and not included.

Works were carried out in the Netherlands such as European headlights, brakes checked, new 12V battery, a windscreen washer system and 12V cigarette lighter installed. The van still has a Brazilian registration certificate for registration almost anywhere in Europe. Perhaps some country-specific work will need to be done.

A 50-year-old van will of course have the odd spot, and we’re not sure the tank gauge works. New ignition lock fitted, the ignition key no longer fits on the door locks. This Volkswagen T1 is really beautiful all around and in very good condition. The van is being sold ‘as is’. This is a private sale, warranty does not apply.

The van is in DELDEN (the Netherlands) and you are welcome to view the van prior to placing a bid. You can get my details via Catawiki.
