This fine Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Coupé was supplied from new on the 4th May 1972. Interestingly this Karmann only had a one owner between 1985 and 2018. When the Karmann Ghia arrived in the Netherlands in 2018 it clearly had a life behind it. Not that it worried the new Dutch owner, as he intended to restore the car from front to back. That restoration had been very successful indeed. On its arrival in the Netherlands it was completely stripped down. Every single part that needed either repairing, overhauling or replacing was logged and taken care of. The Karmann was re-sprayed in the original red finish with a clear topcoat to protect it from fading in the future. The headlining, seats and dashboard were re-upholstered. After inspection the gearbox was re-adjusted and new gear-change pens were fitted. Gaskets, tubes and the carburettor were replaced. The list of work done goes on and on. After all this effort, naturally the bodywork is in very good shape with neat and correctly aligned panels. The rust-free chassis has been rust-proofed. The interior trim is as good as new, with all material used in the original colour scheme. It is self evident that a lot of care has been taken to get to this splendid result.
