PRICE REDUCTION! Here we have a beautifully restored prize-winning Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Coupé. This car first saw the light of day on the Swiss roads in 1970. It moved to the Netherlands in 1999 and has remained in single ownership until now. The car’s history has been wonderfully documented. Every invoice relating to maintenance and the restoration costing over € 8,000 has been kept together with a Volkswagen certificate confirming this is a matching numbers Karmann Ghia. The car still has the same 44 Ps 1.5 litre boxer engine it left the factory with. The restoration itself has been immortalised by the many photos taken.

The restoration was undertaken by the owner and took a couple of years to complete. All the work was carried to an exacting and thorough standard. Every panel was taken back to bare metal and repaired where necessary. The final result is one to be proud of. Even after 50 years the Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Coupé still turns heads and is a thing of beauty to behold. That is especially the case with this example. The fine bodywork has nice and thin, correctly aligned panelwork. The car received a lovely grey finish. All the work carried out was to a high standard, leaving us with a car still in great shape. Other details such as the resprayed rims and re-chromed bumpers have been executed to the same very high standard.

Inside it has been fully reupholstered with good fitting black carpets and beige vinyl seating. The dashboard also received a new black vinyl covering on top with a grey colour coded finish below. Again this just shows how much attention to detail was given.

The engine and transmission have been fully overhauled. The 1.5-litre engine now runs perfectly, producing that typical boxer drumming sound. The manual 4-speed gearbox is precise and easy to use. The brakes and suspension were also completely overhauled. The brakes are nice and responsive and the suspension is responsible for tight and fine handling.

This is a wonderful Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Coupé in such good condition it will there to be enjoyed for many more miles to come!
