Beschreibung:

Der VW Karmann Ghia Typ14 wurde als Coupé 1953 vorgestellt und nach einem Entwurf der italienischen Firma Ghia von Karmann in Osnabrück gefertigt. 1957 kam das attraktive Cabriolet auf den Markt. Entscheidende Veränderungen sind die zahlreichen Versteifungen der Karosserie, vor allem im Bodenbereich. Das Verdeck ist qualitativ sehr hochwertig gearbeitet und setzt Maßstäbe in Verarbeitung, material und Geräuscharmut. Es schließt fast vollständig mit der Karosserielinie ab und verleiht dem Typ 14 ein äußerst elegantes Aussehen.

Der Karmann Ghia wurde ursprünglich in die USA ausgeliefert und gelangte 2005 nach Dänemark. Dort wurde das Fahrzeug ohne Rücksicht auf Kosten über drei Jahre Frame-Off restauriert und mit einem leistungsoptimierten, aber zeitgemäßen, Ahnendorp-Motor versehen, der dem Karmann ein mit einem Porsche 356 vergleichbares Fahrverhalten verleiht. Seit 2014 ist der Karmann in Deutschland angemeldet und hat seit 2016 seinen zweiten Besitzer dort. Durch die vergleichsweise hohen Kosten einer kompletten Restaurierung, existieren nur sehr wenige Fahrzeuge in einem vergleichbaren Ausnahmezustand.

The VW Karmann Ghia Type14 was presented as a coupé in 1953 and was manufactured by Karmann in Osnabrück according to a design by the Italian company Ghia. The attractive convertible was launched in 1957. Decisive changes are the numerous reinforcements of the body, especially in the floor area. The top is of very high quality and sets standards in workmanship, material and quietness. It is almost completely flush with the body line and gives the Type 14 an extremely elegant appearance.

The Karmann Ghia was originally delivered to the USA and arrived in Denmark in 2005. There, the vehicle was frame-off restored over a period of three years without regard to cost and fitted with a performance-optimized, but contemporary, Ahnendorp-engine, which gives the Karmann driving characteristics comparable to a Porsche 356. The Karmann has been registered in Germany since 2014 and has had its second owner there since 2016. Due to the comparatively high costs of a complete restoration, only very few vehicles exist in such exceptional condition.
