The Volkswagen Golf GTI has long been the benchmark for practical performance, and the Mk. VI Adidas Edition added a particularly desirable dose of exclusivity to the formula. Announced in 2010 as a collaboration between Volkswagen and Adidas, this limited edition was never officially offered in the UK, with just 350 right-hand-drive examples produced for the Japanese domestic market.

Finished in desirable Oryx White Pearl, this smart example has covered just under 58,000 miles and was imported into the UK from Japan in January 2024. It comes with an excellent Japanese service history, two keys and an underside described as being in exceptional condition following its life in Japan. The MoT certificate is valid until January 2027 with no advisories.

Under the bonnet sits the standard GTI 2.0-litre turbocharged engine producing 210bhp, coupled to Volkswagen's six-speed DSG transmission with paddle shifts and the distinctive Golf-ball gearknob. Performance remains brisk, with 0-60mph taking approximately 6.5 seconds, while the DSG makes it equally suited to everyday use.

The Adidas Edition is distinguished by its 18-inch Serron alloy wheels, recently fitted with nearly new tyres, alongside several bespoke interior details. The seats feature contrasting fabric centre panels incorporating the iconic three-stripe Adidas design, with leather bolsters, while aluminium accents, contrasting door plates and Adidas badging further distinguish the cabin. A touchscreen head unit with DAB radio has also been fitted.

Presented in excellent condition, this is a rare and highly usable modern classic, combining the practicality and performance of the Mk. VI GTI with genuine limited-edition provenance. ULEZ compliant and with excellent Japanese history, low mileage and desirable specification, it represents an unusual opportunity to acquire one of only 350 right-hand-drive Adidas Edition GTIs produced.
