A true icon of the '80s, the Golf 1 GTI left a lasting impression. On September 11, 1975, the Frankfurt Motor Show opened its doors with a major attraction on the Volkswagen stand: the Golf GTI. The "fastest Volkswagen ever" was a bombshell. The Golf GTI, the idol of an entire generation, was a revolution in the automotive industry. Volkswagen, accustomed to the curves of its Beetle, decided to fit in with the aesthetic standards of the time by creating a compact, sober car with taut, slightly aggressive lines. But where Volkswagen really came into its own was when it coined the name GTI: Grand Tourisme à Injection.
This Volkswagen Golf GTI 1600 cm3 was launched on May 28, 1982.
We tracked it down in 1997, when it was acquired by a local enthusiast. He sold it in 1998. In 2002, it was sold to its current owner, who used it sparingly, respecting the recommended maintenance schedule.
In 2011, he had the car completely repainted. Since then, the car has been kept in the best possible condition. Today, it's in beautiful condition, and sold without reserve, it represents a great opportunity for any marque enthusiast.
