Engine Type: EG 1600 110cv

Built for the German domestic market in 1979 and registered in Italy in 1981; 3 owners according to the logbook, 8 years with the last owner. Number plates and logbook of the time. Just over 100,000 km since new.
First series of the Golf Cabriolet, in the sportier GLI trim, with the elegant front with single headlights. Rare aquamarine colour, not available on the Italian market, with multi-layer hood and interior in black/anthracite. Bodywork in very good condition, no trace of corrosion, as the versions intended for the German market had specific and more extensive protective bodywork treatment. Interior very well preserved, new padded multi-layer hood. Car complete in all its details.
Mechanics in good order, car used in leisure time, serviced and subjected to the necessary repairs to keep it in perfect working order. Regularly serviced over the years (last MOT valid until February 2021). New tyres.
Top model of the Golf Cabriolet, equipped with the 1600 engine with the K-Jetronic injection of the Golf GTI. In addition, sporty suspension and stiffer car trim inherited from the GTI. The brilliant engine propelled it to over 180 km/h with comfort and road holding that still amazes today. The multi-layer hood insulates the cabin in an exemplary way. GLI versions are rare and hard to find in this state of preservation. A truly enjoyable and reliable classic car that is also fun to use every day.
The car must be collected from the province of Treviso.
