This Beetle was originally supplied in the Netherlands. Date of first admission is 2 April 1971. This is a very nice Volkswagen thanks to the beautiful two-tone paintwork: claret red and cream white.
This Speedster has officially been reapproved as a convertible and it thus states “convertible” on the registration. It has been constructed in the right way, so with reinforcement beams in the bottom and reinforcement pieces in the door frames (see pictures). After the conversion, the Beetle was reapproved and the registration document neatly states this bodywork modification into convertible.
The owner of this Beetle died in 2001, after which the Beetle ended up in storage. We took it out of storage this past winter, we washed it and we checked the engine. The engine soon started and now runs like a charm again. The clutch and brakes need to be further adjusted and checked. The Beetle has an official Dutch registration but has to be checked and still requires a technical approval. Bottom and bodywork both look perfect, so we don’t expect any issues.
The interior is in good condition and does not have holes or tears. The roof is in excellent condition without tears or holes.
After the conversion, the Beetle was repainted and the paintwork has never actually seen the outdoors yet. It looks perfect! The two-tone colour scheme makes for a beautiful look.
The bottom of the Beetle is perfect: the reinforced box girders are 100% hard and show no rust or imperfections. All of the wheel arches are good and hard, not a spot to be found! As soon as the Beetle is checked and approved, you will be able to enjoy it for years to come.
This Beetle comes with the official Dutch registration. If needed, we can help arrange transport throughout all of Europe.
The car is in Delden, the Netherlands.
